Beams Japan's original tatami slippers are made in Kahoku Town, BEAMS JAPAN Prefecture, which boasts the highest slipper production in Japan.
The insole part that comes into direct contact with your feet is made of "rush grass" produced in Kumamoto Prefecture, which prevents stuffiness and provides a smooth and comfortable feel.
Slippers, which originated in Japan, are said to have originated when many foreigners visited Japan at the beginning of the Meiji era when the country opened up to the world, but were unable to adapt to the Japanese lifestyle and customs of taking off their shoes before entering a Japanese room.
The slippers have a checkered pattern that blends in easily with any interior design and are made with rush grass, giving them a Japanese feel.
