This custom-made Special order bank was created with the motif of a wooden carved bear, once a Hokkaido souvenir. The body of the box is made in BEAMS' orange, a happy and lively color that represents "prosperity for generations," and the golden salmon in its mouth represents good fortune. It has a heartwarming appearance, and coins can be removed from the back of the box.

Yakumo's wooden carved bear
Originating from a bear figurine brought back to Japan from Switzerland by the Owari Tokugawa family, wooden carvings of bears took root in the Yakumo region of Hokkaido. The making of wooden carvings of bears spread throughout Hokkaido as a side job during the winter farming off-season, and even as a new hobby, before riding the wave of the tourism boom of the Showa era and becoming known throughout the country.
