The tiger is a cute wooden animal series made by Takimoto Hikimono Seisakusho. Items originally used for assembly and coloring at children's workshops in Shizuoka Prefecture have now been commercialized. Therefore, it is characterized by simple and cute details and no coloring. This is a product where you can easily enjoy the warmth of simple wood and ``Shizuoka wood turning'', which is designated as a local craft of Shizuoka Prefecture.
[What is Shizuoka Hikimono? ]
Hikimono is a product made from wood using a potter's wheel. ``Shizuoka turning things'' began in 1864, when Yonekichi Sakai, a precious wood merchant, learned the techniques from a Hakone turning craftsman, opened a workshop, and passed on the techniques. Yoneji's workshop trained many technicians and developed Shizuoka woodworking.
