This custom-made Special order dog by Beams Japan was made in Shigaraki, Shiga BEAMS JAPAN, known as the birthplace of Shigaraki ware. Dyed in deep indigo, it looks like a ninja that blends into the darkness. However, its mischievous expression is hard to hide, and is very appealing. As a room interior, it can be used as an accent piece on a bookshelf or in the entranceway. As an exterior decoration, it can be placed next to a garden stone to create a Japanese atmosphere. The name Tanuki is said to have the meaning of "surpassing others," and it is generally placed under the eaves of a store as a symbol of prosperous business. Each part also has a hidden meaning, called "Eight-fold Enjo."

Shigaraki ware
