A traditional beckoning cat that brings good fortune
A beckoning cat made using the "Kimekomi doll" technique. Kimekomi dolls are dolls made by adding grooves and thin lines to a prototype made of "toso" paulownia wood, and then pressing cloth into it to finish it.
The main body is orange, the corporate color of BEAMS, which has the auspicious meaning of "prosperity for generations." The bright and lively color is recommended for room interiors as it is an auspicious item that brings good fortune.
It is generally believed that the right hand of a beckoning cat brings good luck and money, while the left hand brings many people. The beckoning cat is round and adorable.

It is a traditional doll with a history of nearly 300 years, which began in 1740 when a craftsman who made an offering box for Kamigamo Shrine in Kyoto made a Kimekomi doll out of leftover pieces.
