Click here for a list of items celebrating the 100th anniversary of Yakumo's Wooden Bear Carvings!This [BEAMS JAPAN] wood-carved bear illustration T-shirt was designed using the motif of wood-carved bears, which originated from bear figurines brought back to Japan from Switzerland by the Owari Tokugawa family and which have taken root in the Yakumo region of Hokkaido. The works of eight of Yakumo's leading wood-carving bear artists are illustrated by painter Yumika Sakamaki with a gentle, warm, and unique touch, creating a charming depiction of the world of wood-carving bears. There was a time when carved wooden bears were the most popular souvenirs of Hokkaido, but not anymore. With this T-shirt for everyday use, you can enjoy coordinating with the carved bears in your daily life.
