These Special order-made Wakasa lacquer chopsticks were made by Ishida Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of Japanese lacquer chopsticks. They are made using a technique called dry lacquer, in which dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on the chopsticks and then layered with other lacquer layers, creating a fine uneven surface that makes food less likely to slip and makes them very easy to pick up. They feature a simple design that combines simplicity and elegance.

What is Wakasa lacquerware?
It is said that Wakasa lacquerware began in the early Edo period in the Obama Domain near Wakasa Bay, where lacquer artisans imitated Chinese lacquerware. By applying multiple layers of lacquer and carefully polishing them, traditional Wakasa lacquerware boasts a beautiful finish that can be called a work of art. It is characterized by the deep luster unique to lacquerware and an elegant atmosphere.

・After use, avoid soaking in water or detergent. Remove dirt using a neutral detergent and a soft sponge, rinse with hot or cold water, and then wipe with a soft cloth.
