This charm-style keychain features the auspicious and powerful characters for "great satisfaction," a modern rebirth of the "hige moji" (hige characters) that are rooted in Edo signboard culture. It was created with the hope that the wearer will have fulfilling and satisfying times in their daily lives.
■ Wishes put into the Hige-moji
We commissioned lettering expert Kohei Kamihoriuchi to create a powerful expression of "Great Satisfaction," which goes even further than "Satisfaction." Bearded characters are a uniquely Japanese culture, incorporating prayers for business prosperity and good health into letters. By using an odd number of "beards" at the end of the lines, it is also considered auspicious that the message will continue.
■ Design
This charm-shaped keychain features the powerful words "Completely Satisfied" written in a distinctive "beard-style" font. On the back, in keeping with the traditional feel of the bearded font, the words "BEEMUS JAPAN" are written in old kana characters. This witty design adds a stylish accent. Attach it to your bag or keys and enjoy it as a lucky charm to carry your wishes.
