The stoic style, which faithfully reproduces military boots, uses a military last called 379X. This is the last that ALDEN actually used when they received a request from the US military during the war, and it is characterized by the volume of the toe and the moderate shape.
It features comfortable arch support and toe mobility, versatile fitting and a rugged look that are the hallmarks of its military spec.
The material is HORWEEN shell cordovan. It has a deep, wet sheen, and the more you wear it, the more wrinkles will appear. The outer eyelets, storm welt, and double outsole give the shoes a bold look.
