The stoic style, which faithfully reproduces military boots, uses a military last called 379X. This is the last that ALDEN actually used when they received a request from the US military during the war, and it is characterized by the volume of the toe and the moderate shape.
It features comfortable arch support and toe movement, giving it a versatile fit and rugged look that is the hallmark of military spec shoes.
The material is supple box calf leather, giving it a bold look. It features a unique natural finish storm welt and a brown cork rubber sole that is cushioned and waterproof. Although it takes some time to break in the cork rubber sole, it has high grip and provides a stable fit.
