Gabrielle Cavassa, a California-born, now New Orleans-based jazz singer who has received praise from many prominent figures including Joshua Redman and Don Was, has released her debut album.
Featuring a diverse selection of songs she loves, from the jazz standard "Prisoner of Love" to "Angelo" by legendary Italian singer-songwriter Luigi Tenco, the album also includes two tracks for which she wrote the lyrics. Her voice, possessing both depth and richness, yet with a delicate, ephemeral quality, is captivating from beginning to end.
