Low-salt umeboshi made using traditional methods
Regular low-sodium pickled plums are soaked in water to remove the salt, which causes the plum's natural flavor and nutrients to leach out. Additionally, additives are added to enhance the flavor and maintain shelf life.
Mori Umezono's pickled plums are made using an additive-free method that preserves the natural flavor of the plums, a technique perfected through years of research. These low-salt pickled plums can be stored at room temperature and retain the original taste of the plums. Available in 3L and 4L sizes.

Mori Umezono is a plum orchard in Oyamacho, Hita City, Oita Prefecture, which has been in business since 1961. Using home-grown plums and shiso, and salt from the Goto Nada Sea in Nagasaki Prefecture, they make low-salt umeboshi plums by hand using traditional methods.
