- "Hamachirimen" is a high-quality white silk fabric created through the abundant soft water and humid climate of Lake Biwa, and the wisdom of our ancestors.
This exquisite silk fabric has a history spanning nearly 300 years, originating in Nagahama, a region in northern Shiga Prefecture surrounded by Lake Biwa and the Ibuki Mountains.
This textile, which has been used in traditional Japanese kimonos such as Kyo-Yuzen and Kaga-Yuzen, has been reinterpreted with a contemporary art sensibility.
The artwork was handled by <kendai>.
These artists, known as "textile engravers," create modern designs that serve as a bridge between Japan and the West.
We've taken this luxurious material and incorporated it into everyday wear, creating unisex pajama pants.
