- Hamachirimen, the finest quality silk crepe fabric, is a product of the abundant soft water and humid climate of Lake Biwa, combined with the wisdom of our ancestors.
This is a top-quality silk fabric that has been produced for nearly 300 years in Nagahama, a region in northern Shiga Prefecture surrounded by Lake Biwa and the Ibuki Mountains.
This textile, which has been used in the finest Japanese kimonos such as Kyo-Yuzen and Kaga-Yuzen, has been reinterpreted with a contemporary art sensibility.
The artwork was handled by <kendai>.
These artists, known as "textile engravers," create modern designs that serve as a bridge between Japan and the West.
We deliberately chose to use this luxurious material to create a simple tank top that is as close to the skin as possible.
