Product description
Elegant appearance, attractive texture unique to handicrafts
A simple and modern soba choko that was born from the long history of Uradomi ware in Tottori Prefecture, and which inherits tradition while also fitting into modern life. With its beautiful, carefully handcrafted finish, it can be used not only as a soba choko, but also as a small bowl or cup.

*There are some individual differences in each item as they are handmade. Please note.

[Precautions when using pottery]
*We recommend sealing the product before using it for the first time (soak it in rice water or flour dissolved in water overnight). Also, please soak it in water before serving the food. It prevents odor and oil from sticking. After washing the utensils, please dry them before storing them.
*We do not recommend using microwave ovens or dishwashers.
In Iwami District, Tottori Prefecture, at the end of the Edo period, Izushiyaki craftsmen built a kiln for dyed porcelain using soil from the Uradome coast. Dyed everyday utensils were fired for more than ten years until the feudal domain was abolished due to the Meiji Restoration, and in 1971, Mr. Sekio Yamashita and Mr. Kiyoshi Yamashita (currently at Engoji Kiln) revived it and named it ``Uradomi Ware.'' , created ``Yukihakuji'', a white porcelain with a soft, slightly bluish tone. Since 2008, Mr. Toshiyuki Hirata has inherited the pottery.
