A series recreating the works of Fujio Ishimoto
The "SOBA" series is a porcelain reproduction of a one-of-a-kind ceramic piece that Fujio Ishimoto created for Arabia in Finland in 1994.
This series, recreated in Ishimoto's hometown of Tobe, a pottery production center in Ehime Prefecture, features thin stripes carved by pressing the unevenness of a single piece of cardboard together, using the same technique as when Ishimoto created it. Its simple beauty stands out, and it blends in well with not only chopsticks but also cutlery.
