Product description
Beautiful handcrafted techniques stand out
This 7-inch plate features a gentle, warm color accentuated by the blue. It is easy to use as a plate and has a soft presence that enhances the food.

``Jomon Zogan'' is a technique of embedding different colored clay into a pattern created by rolling ``braid'', which is made by twisting multiple strings together, onto a semi-dry base material. Inheriting this technique, we create works by sublimating them to advanced techniques by experimenting with various clays, glazes, firing methods, etc.

*All tableware is handmade, and even if the tableware is of the same shape, each item will be baked differently, including the way the pattern appears. Please note that there may be slight individual differences in shape and pattern, and the item may not necessarily be exactly as shown in the image.

[Regarding the use of pottery and porcelain]
●If you rinse the pan with water before serving food on it, it will be less likely to absorb odors or oil.
After washing the dishes, dry them thoroughly before storing them.
If you are concerned about stains or odor transfer, one preventative measure is to seal the pores. Put the dishes in a pot with rice water or water mixed with wheat flour or potato starch, and boil over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and leave to cool. After that, rinse lightly and dry thoroughly.
●Do not use in ovens, microwaves or dishwashers.
He is the grandson of Tatsuzo Shimaoka, a Living National Treasure and holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Mingei Pottery (Jomon Inlay)". After six years of training from 1997, he began working at Shimaoka Pottery in 2003 and took over the company in 2007, producing pottery for many solo exhibitions both in Japan and abroad. He has inherited Shimaoka's techniques and is also honing his own techniques and developing glazes.
