The vast Yosemite landscape is here
During a long stay in Yosemite, while gazing at large rocks and deciding which line to climb, or perhaps while in the middle of a climb, there is a "rock" that catches his eye for just a moment and stays in his mind ever since. Because he cannot bring his camera when he is concentrating on climbing, he returns to photograph the "rock" and presses the shutter. He cannot put into words why he is drawn to it. So he takes a photograph, and then rediscovers the memory and encounters it again. All of the photos were taken in Yosemite, but even though it is the same granite, the texture of the rock's surface is different in the Valley and the High Country. The monochrome gradation that highlights its texture makes it impossible to judge the rock's size. But somewhere in the vastness of Yosemite, a rock exactly like the one in the photo exists.
