Kenji Miura creates photo books of live concerts by musicians such as YMO, Hiroshima natives Eikichi Yazawa, and Tamio Okuda.
Until now, I had not taken any photos with the theme of my hometown, Hiroshima. There are many outstanding works by both photographers and writers on the theme of Hiroshima. I thought it would be difficult to use Hiroshima as the atomic bombing site as a theme in my photographs.
A friend casually said to me, ``I was born in Hiroshima, so why not try Hiroshima?'' and about eight years ago, I started focusing on Hiroshima.
Kenji Miura, also known as the camera boy, doesn't take pictures by moving the subject, but by moving himself. Here, I feel like a fish out of water, and the Miura Hiroshima I want to photograph is captured in Hiroshima today, more than 70 years after the war.
