“HLUBOTISK” Prague Intaglio Photo Collection Exhibition and “Ichigo Sugawara Prague Photo Exhibition” will be held simultaneously

"hlubotisk" means intaglio printing in Czech. In particular, a printing method based on photoengraving that expresses shading by the amount of ink packed into the grooves of an intaglio is called photogravure, and has been used since ancient times to produce reproductions and print photographs.

"TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS" will be holding an exhibition of rare Prague intaglio photographs starting October 7th (Friday).

Compared to modern offset printing, it has deeper blacks and a three-dimensional texture similar to prints. Monochrome landscapes of the former Czechoslovakia seen in photogravures by unknown photographers. Along with the photogravure, we will also be introducing vintage Prague items collected by photographer Kazuyoshi Sugawara. Stereoscopes made of Bakelite material ¬¬, cameras from Pionyr and Efekta, etc. will also be on sale for a limited time. With the cooperation of Mr. Sugawara, we will explore the "deep prints" that Prague has produced.


In addition, ``B-Jirin Yoshida Daikanyama'' will simultaneously hold the ``Ichigo Sugawara Prague Photo Exhibition,'' displaying and selling photographs taken by Ichigo Sugawara in the art city of Prague.

In conjunction with this photo exhibition, we will be selling a limited number of Special order camera bags created with Mr. Sugawara by <Ichigo Sugawara x PORTER x B JIRUSHI YOSHIDA >. A new camera bag created especially for this event will also be unveiled for the first time. (Currently accepting reservations in store)
