An exhibition will be held at Tokyo TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS on the 4th floor of BEAMS JAPAN Japan in Shinjuku to commemorate the release of the picture book ``Uamou and the Wonderful Wakusei'' featuring the original character UAMOU created by creator Ayako Takagi. To do.
In addition to introducing the worldview of picture books through installations, we also sell hand-painted art pieces, orders for reproductions of original paintings, and limited edition goods. In addition, as a collaborative project realized through the aspirations of artists, five up-and-coming artists, including Ran Tondabayashi, will be exhibiting illustrations based on the theme of UAMOU. On the final day, there will be an autograph session with the artist himself.
Please take this opportunity to visit us.
This picture book is based on the comic ``Uamou From Another Planet'' that I published while I was a student in the UK, and I have given it a new form as a picture book. The original comic had no words, only pictures, but in ``Uamou and the Fushigi no Wakusei,'' we focused on simple language and rhythm. This is a story about the importance of facing oneself and growing, and about meeting friends who provide emotional support. We have designed the illustrations so that you can enjoy them no matter how many times you read them. I hope that through this picture book you will become interested in space and feel the joy of the fantasy world.
