Anniversary special models “Butterfly Stool” and “Heron Rocking Chair” will be sold in limited quantities.
Tendo Mokko is Japan's leading global furniture manufacturer, producing many masterpieces of Japanese modern furniture. We have built a long and close relationship with fennica, including planning and selling Special order products.
It has been 60 years since Japan's representative furniture "Butterfly Stool" was born. It has been 50 years since the Heron Rocking Chair, which can be said to be the culmination of molded plywood technology, was born. We will be selling a limited number of special models of these two pieces of furniture, which remain masterpieces as icons of Tendo Mokkou even after more than half a century has passed, and which have been recreated almost to the specifications at the time of release.
As a supporting store, fennica will be accepting lottery entries on this web page from February 10th (Friday) to March 27th (Monday). Samples of this commemorative model will be on display at the fennica corner of International Gallery BEAMS (Harajuku) from February 10th (Friday) to February 19th (Sunday). If you would like to see the actual product, please come visit us during this period.

At the time of release, we used Indian rosewood, which has a clear grain among rosewood types. Nowadays, it is a material that is becoming increasingly rare and extremely difficult to obtain. We specially use materials that have been carefully stored in Tendo Mokko's material warehouse for a long time.
Painting
A special coating is applied to bring out the deep purplish grain of Indian rosewood. This is a special painting technique that protects the wood surface from stains and scratches while making the most of the texture of the wood.
emblem
This is a special specification that reproduces the emblem used in the 1960s.

Natural wood, no two pieces are the same. Our expert craftsmen check the grain of each piece of wood to find the right material in the right place. Achieving a beautiful combination that matches the form of the butterfly stool requires the sense and skill of a skilled craftsman.

tension processing
The stitching on the upholstery is the specification at the time of release. Compared to the current model, which has changed in search of comfort, the stitch span is shorter, creating a classic atmosphere. You can choose the type of upholstery, and you can choose the upholstery that suits your preference.
oak
The tree species used is the same oak as at the time of release. A gentle expression that feels like the texture of natural wood. As it ages, it changes to a deep amber color similar to whiskey.
Frame molding
"Frame insert molding" allows for a frame that looks like a single stroke with no seams except for the armrests. By combining molded plywood and solid wood, you can draw curves more freely and at the same time obtain high strength.
Regarding sales method
・WEB lottery entries will be accepted from February 10th (Friday) to March 27th (Monday), 2017. Please note that there is no lottery application at the store.
・Winners will be contacted by fennica staff at International Gallery BEAMS (Harajuku) by phone.
・If you win the "Butterfly Stool", please visit "International Gallery BEAMS (Harajuku)" and make payment within the specified period (Sunday, April 9th), and then Tendo Mokko will deliver the product to you. It will be handed over.
・If you win the "Heron Rocking Chair", please visit "International Gallery BEAMS (Harajuku)" and first select the upholstery of your choice. You will pay the price according to the rank of the upholstery, and Tendo Mokko will deliver the product to you.
・Only the winners will be able to purchase, and we will ask for your name and phone number when you visit the store to confirm your identity.
