Munqa

This is a jewelry brand designed by artist "muu" that started in 2010. The concept of NEWTIVE = NEW + NATIVE is a mix of influenced cultures and ethnic cultures. We pursue a new expression of NATIVE through the filter of Munqa. All Munqa jewelry is made of sterling silver (silver 925). Silver jewelry is a one-of-a-kind piece created by skilled Japanese craftsmen from production to finishing. Like vintage native jewelry, it is made using a technique of melting silver and making sheet metal, and the surface is intentionally unevenly finished. While most silver products on the market are mass-produced using casts, Munqa jewelry is basically cut out by hand by craftsmen, and the stamps are also hand-hammered one by one. In addition, the "striped carving" that creates the lines is also done by hand, and every process is carried out by a single craftsman. If you look closely, you will see that not all pieces have the same expression or shape, which is due to this production method.
