The limited-time store "BEAMS JAPAN Morioka Pop-up Store" will open on Saturday, March 14th.

Morioka, Iwate, is a city where abundant nature, retro streetscapes, and food culture blend together. BEAMS JAPAN will be holding a limited-time pop-up store in the Bank of Iwate Red Brick Building, a Western-style building that boasts a history of over 100 years and is representative of Morioka, with the cooperation of Monaka Co., Ltd., which operates and manages the commercial complex "monaka."
The Iwate Bank Red Brick Building, a beloved landmark of Morioka, was designed by Tatsuno Kingo, the designer of Tokyo Station, and was built in 1911 as the former Morioka Bank main building. It has also been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
For the pop-up store in this historic location, in addition to the famous products from all over Japan that BEAMS JAPAN normally carries, we have prepared store-exclusive products that are an arrangement of souvenirs and local products that are unique to BEAMS JAPAN Morioka Pop-up Store.

Chagu Chagu Umakko is a traditional event in Iwate Prefecture in which farm horses dressed in gorgeous costumes march a distance of approximately 14km from Onikoshi Sozen Shrine in Takizawa City to Morioka Hachiman Shrine in Morioka City.
"Chagu Chagu Umako" is a decoration that is made once a year to show appreciation for the horses that are essential for farming, and is also a popular local toy of the same name.
In sympathy with its origins, the costumes are gorgeous and finished in orange, an auspicious color that BEAMS JAPAN holds dear as it "prospers for generations."
