Collaboration with the long-awaited ``Gordon Matta-Clark Exhibition'' held for the first time in Asia

To commemorate the opening of the first major retrospective exhibition in Asia of Gordon Matta-Clark, an artist active mainly in New York in the 1970s, which will be held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo from Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Collaboration items from the exhibition will be on sale from the 15th (Friday) at `` TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS'' in Harajuku and BEAMS ONLINE SHOP.
Also, from the same day, a tie-up event with the high culture magazine "TOO MUCH Magazine" will be held. In addition to exhibiting works by five artists inspired by the restaurant ``FOOD,'' five types of T-shirts featuring their works will be sold for a limited time, each in a can with an original label.

A total of 7 types of collaboration items (T-shirts, tote bags, stickers, postcards) designed by art director Akinobu Maeda will be on sale at "TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS" and BEAMS ONLINE SHOP.

“FOOD 1971-74: The recipe for a soup no one knows about” held
Five artists created works inspired by Gordon Matta-Clark's legendary restaurant FOOD. The works featured in the latest issue of "TOO MUCH Magazine" will be exhibited for a limited time at "TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS." At the same time, we will also be selling canned T-shirts featuring each work designed by art director Akinobu Maeda. (T-shirts in cans are available only for the first production, limited quantity)

During the ``Gordon Matta-Clark Exhibition'' held at Hatagaya's cafe ``PADDLERS COFFEE'', popular chefs, restaurant owners, chefs, etc. from various genres will be invited as guests, and original menus inspired by the exhibition will be provided. We will also hold talk events related to food.
At the heart of Matta-Clark's work is the exploration of ways in which art can contribute to the creation of thriving communities. In response to this, we will consider what kind of culture modern food is creating, the meaning and value of the creation of cuisine, and the functions of restaurants.
