＜Ray BEAMS LOS ANGELES＞ cut-sew is entirely manufactured in LA. ＜Ray BEAMS＞ director, Ayuko Hamanaka visited the factory in LA to discuss the next season’s new product.
Contrary to popular image, the factory gives an impression of openness. One even feels comfort in the bright streaming sunlight of LA and the rhythm of the machines.
She brings sample designs and specifications to the factory and discusses the details concerning the silhouette, fabric, specification, and price. They add variations of color to the standard items every season, and sometimes fine-tune silhouettes. If there is a requested item, she directly checks the sample at the factory, and makes small adjustments.
After she returns home, and the sample they discussed of arrives, she continues communications about adjustment, this time from Japan. "Because we start preparing from a year before, sometimes I forget what season it is", laughs Hamanaka.

Since its release, the scoop-neck T-shirt is already the face of ＜Ray BEAMS LOS ANGELES＞ series. When I asked the 13 women who live in California, if I could take a photo of them wearing it, they all gladly obliged. I learned that simple is "freedom" from these ladies who enjoy each of their own relaxed styles.

We make sure to save the weekend to spend together.
John and I work really hard during the week so we commit our weekends to be with our kids.
