This raccoon dog, made Special order for Beams Japan, was produced in Shigaraki, BEAMS JAPAN Prefecture, a region known for its Shigaraki ware. Despite being a ninja, it's dressed in vibrant orange and has a charming, mischievous expression that makes it stand out. As a room décor item, it can be displayed on a bookshelf or in the entryway to accentuate the space. Displayed in a Japanese-style room, it adds a playful touch to a tranquil space, and placed at the entrance, it will greet visitors with a smile. Its flashy appearance makes it a striking piece.

The name Tanuki is said to have the meaning of "surpassing others," and it is generally placed under the eaves of a store as a symbol of prosperous business. Each part also has a hidden meaning, called "Eight-fold joy."

Shigaraki ware
