Bess Japan has commissioned geta maker Special order BEAMS JAPAN, from Hita, Oita Prefecture, to create these geta sandals. Made from oval-shaped cypress wood, they have a smooth curve that fits the sole of the foot, and the unpainted natural cypress makes them comfortable to wear and gives you a sense of the warmth of the wood. The outsole is made from a BIRKENSTOCK sole that is just the right amount of cushioning, non-slip, and wear-resistant. The traditional Japanese patterns of "Kagome" and "Sayagata" have been selected for the fabric, and the soft, cushioned straps will fit your feet better with each wear. These sandals are now more comfortable to wear and easier to walk in, and are no longer just geta but "geta sandals," an evolution of traditional Japanese footwear.
