Check out the items celebrating BEAMS JAPAN's 10th anniversary here!This T-shirt expresses traditional auspicious symbols with the vibrant colors and pop sensibility characteristic of tupera tupera.
The inspiration for this design comes from the beloved "souvenir jacket (sukajan)," a popular fashion item. The back features a bold illustration of auspicious symbols such as beckoning cats, daruma dolls, and Mount Fuji scattered across a background of a map of Japan. The front of the shirt features a charming beckoning cat and a daruma doll disguised as the character for "fortune" as a single print, offering different playful touches on the front and back. The illustration is based on an original drawing created using paper cutting techniques. The exquisite lines and overlaps, which cannot be expressed digitally, give the T-shirt a soft and gentle feel. This happy garment is sure to bring you good fortune just by wearing it.
