Banko ware teapots are a traditional craft from Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. They are made from clay rich in iron and fired without glazing, resulting in a unique luster that deepens with use. The iron-rich soil and the slow, slow firing process known as "reduction" are said to absorb the bitterness of tea and give it a mellow flavor. The handle and spout are designed with great care, and both right-handed and left-handed versions are available.

The bottom of the bag has a special design with the BEAMS JAPAN logo subtly placed on it.

[Regarding the use of pottery and porcelain]
●After washing, be sure to dry thoroughly before storing.
If you are concerned about stains or odor transfer, one preventative measure is to seal the pores. Put the dishes in a pot with rice water or water mixed with wheat flour or potato starch, and boil over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and leave to cool. After that, rinse lightly and dry thoroughly.
●Not suitable for use in ovens. We do not recommend using microwaves or dishwashers.
