Carrying around a national treasure in style - a playful Kyoto fan
A fan Special order by Yamamoto Jin Shoten. It is based on the national treasure "Chōjū Jinbutsu Giga," an illustrated scroll preserved at Kōzan-ji Temple in Kyoto, and uses orange, which is BEAMS' corporate color and is associated with the auspicious meaning of "prosperity for generations." Orange gives a bright and lively impression.
The folding fan can be folded compactly and is easy to carry. It is recommended for everyday use as well as for gifts.
■About the Choju Jinbutsu Giga
This scroll is made up of four volumes, A, B, C, and D, and is 44 meters long. It was produced between the late Heian and early Kamakura periods, and is a whitewashed work drawn entirely in ink, depicting humorous anthropomorphized animals. It is a world-famous masterpiece of Japanese art.
