This is a unique book that includes photo pages focusing on Brutalist architecture as well as a set of paper models of the buildings.
Brutalist architecture is an architectural style that became popular around the world in the 1950s after World War II. It uses exposed concrete, glass, and other materials in their natural state, and as the word "brutal" suggests, it refers to architecture that is rough and devoid of decoration.
This book features brutalist and modernist architecture built in the former Eastern European countries and the former Yugoslavia.
From Moscow's vast residential areas to Tbilisi's rugged skyline, the book offers historical insights as well as architectural insights.
The book ends with nine models that can be pushed out and assembled, allowing you to experience architectural styles through both "seeing" and "making."
