The "Shikiri" series incorporates this traditional concept into modern design, inheriting the "passion for comfort" of Takeshi Nii, the creator of the legendary Japanese masterpiece, the "Niece Chair X." The beautiful elements found in traditional Japanese architecture are expressed through delicate woven patterns of colored threads. Providing a gentle connection between indoors and outdoors, this chair is nostalgic yet new, striking a chord with the senses and bringing a quiet harmony to modern living spaces.

■NychairX
The Nychair X ottoman was created by Japanese designer Takeshi Arai.
Its calculated seating comfort and streamlined form continue to be highly praised around the world. Its thoroughly simple design is made up of six parts. Its foldable design allows it to be unfolded when needed and stored compactly when not in use. It can be used as an ottoman, or as a side table by placing a tray on top.

■ Carefully selected ingredients
The seat is made of durable, high-density cotton fabric woven using traditional techniques in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. It provides firm support and reduces static electricity. The stainless steel legs are rust-resistant, ensuring high durability and ease of maintenance. The wooden parts are made of white oak and available in a soap finish (natural) or charcoal black finish.

■ Seat design: Rika Kawato
- Light gray lattice: A subtle contrast of light gray and white that evokes the way the morning sun frames the wooden frame of a lattice door.
- Dark gray shoji screen: The large squares evoke the slats of a shoji screen, and the bluish dark gray evokes the clear, deep colors of a deep forest seen through the morning mist.
・Blue-gray blinds: A transparent blue-gray and white stripe pattern that evokes a misty lake. The blinds express the light and breeze that enters the room.

■ Wood color
Soap finish: A finish that protects the wood with the oils and fats of soap. Enjoy the natural smooth feel of wood and the changes that deepen with use.
Charcoal Black: Urethane resin coating. This charcoal-inspired color is intentionally left with an open-pore finish that reveals the wood grain, enhancing the unique texture of oak.

■ Designer
・Rika Kawato (Textile and interior designer)
He is involved in everything from the concept to the color design of "Niechairx Shikiri." With roots in Japan and Denmark, he grew up in a multicultural environment, including Sweden, and the core of his designs is a "fusion of cultures." He is a designer who is active both in Japan and abroad, skillfully manipulating colors and textures.

・Takeshi Arai
Established as the third generation of a sword tool manufacturing company in Tokushima Prefecture. Based on the belief that ``a chair should be made without sacrificing comfort, be inexpensive, and be useful like a tool,'' we aimed to ``make a chair that resembles curry and rice that is loved by many people.''
