Dear Film Project respects the rich worldviews and spirit of photographers, re-edits them, and creates art media to pass on to future generations.

■Shuji Yamada
Born in Koshien, Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture in 1939. Graduated from Kuwasawa Design School in 1960. Became a freelance photographer in 1962. While photographing architecture and fine art, he also continued to take pictures of villages and towns all over Japan, and urban landscapes that blend the old and new. This "Japanese Village" series was featured in many media outlets. However, in 1982 he declared his end as a professional photographer and began working in tile manufacturing on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture. In 1984, he left his job as an Awaji tile craftsman to become a freelance tile craftsman, and became deeply involved in the tile industry.
1979: "Shuji Yamada: Japanese Village 1969-79" (Sanseido), 1996: "From Cameraman to Kawaraman" (Chikuma Shobo), 2010: "Shuji Yamada: Travels in Japan 1961-2010" (Heibonsha), 2020: "New Edition: Japanese Village 1960-2020" (Heibonsha)
The purpose is to upcycle film photographs. We have dug up the photographs taken by many photographers with rich sensibilities and perspectives during the boom period of paper media (1950s to 1990s), and have created paper media that can be called objects by valuing their fragrant emotions. Masu.
