Art on the dining table
A new bowl with a black and white design has been added to the skull plate series. It's a masterpiece that you'll want to collect together with the other skull series items.
■About the skull picture plate■
1. Unglazed firing ⇒ Shape the plate and put it in a kiln at 250℃ to 300℃.
2. Painting: A skull design printed on Mino paper (similar to shoji paper) with gosu (a black pigment used for sketches) is transferred onto the plate.
3. Final firing: White glaze is poured onto the plate with only the skull design remaining, and the plate is then final fired (fired at 1200℃ to 1300℃), causing the gosu to emerge and the white glaze to remain between the patterns, completing a unique black and white skull design plate.
*Each item is made by hand.

Graphic designer. Born in Hyogo Prefecture. After working at Kobe Shinbunsha&Nippon Design Center (NDC,) became independent graphic designer. Besides, he started his activities as a painter in 1981, and has been working as a painter since then.

Born in 1936 in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from high school, he began working as a designer in Kobe, and moved to Tokyo in 1960, where he gained attention as a graphic designer and illustrator. Later, in 1980, he saw a large-scale Picasso exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and began his full-fledged career as a painter. He uses a variety of techniques and styles to create paintings depicting a wide variety of themes, which are highly acclaimed internationally.
