■About the skull picture plate■
1. Unglazed firing ⇒ Shape the plate and put it in a kiln at 250℃ to 300℃.
2. Painting ⇒ Transfer the skull pattern printed on Mino paper (similar to shoji paper) with Gosu (dark blue coloring material used for sketching) onto the plate.
3. Honyaki ⇒ When you put white glaze (glaze) on the plate with only the picture of the skull remaining and do the honyaki (bake at 1200℃ to 1300℃), the gosu will emerge and the white glaze will be placed between the designs. What remains is a unique skull-picture plate based on dark blue and white.
