RUMINZ is an artist living in Hiroshima who creates art that is well-versed in music, including record and CD jackets. This time, we will be holding the first ``INSIDE STORY OF THE DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB'' exhibition and workshop at Pilgrim Surf+Supply Kyoto.''
The story of this exhibition is set in a fictitious nightclub called ``DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB'' run by Japanese-American twins who made their fortune selling dry goods in an immigrant town in California in the late 1940s. In addition to exhibiting and selling art, we will also sell novelty goods such as "nightclub" stickers and badges.
Furthermore, a portrait workshop by RUMINZ will be held for two days only, July 16th (Saturday) and 17th (Sunday). We will give you a coaster that would have been used at "DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB" with a caricature on it.
Don't miss this opportunity to experience the world of "DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB" by RUMINZ.
about 『INSIDE STORY OF THE DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB』
In the late 1940s, there were Japanese-American twins who made a fortune in the dry goods business in East Comb Heights, an immigrant town in California. Their names are Kai Inui and Con Inui. The two opened a nightclub called ``DRIED AND ERROR'S CLUB'' on October 7, 1948. Nightclubs with an oriental atmosphere were very rare at the time, and soon became a place for some young Japanese-Americans to socialize. They created a unique culture based on dried food and were called "FRIZZICKER" (a twist on the word "FRIZZY" because the dried food resembled curly hair), and they existed quietly until the nightclub closed in 1953. did. These are valuable records depicting the faces of unknown "FRIZZICKERS".
