You can wear a thick knit underneath and it's fine. I'm grateful that it doesn't make you look bulky. It's 80% down and 20% feather, but the quality of the down is good, so it's warm, and the stitching is solid, so I think it's worth more than the price. I'll wear it a lot when it gets cold.
