Odate Kogeisha's bento boxes are handcrafted one by one by artisans in Odate City, Akita Prefecture, and are characterized by their careful craftsmanship and high quality.
This nationally designated traditional craft item makes use of the beautiful, uniform grain of Akita cedar. It keeps rice delicious by properly absorbing heat and humidity. The sloped interior bottom also prevents rice grains from getting caught, making it easy to wash. Its bright and elegant texture makes it a local gem that is lightweight, strong, and resilient.

■Care instructions and precautions
- When you first start using it, rice grains will easily stick to the wood if it is dry, so make sure to moisten the inside thoroughly with water.
After use, wash with a soft sponge or cloth without using detergent (the detergent may soak into the wood).
After washing, thoroughly wipe off any excess water and allow to dry thoroughly. Retention of moisture can cause discoloration.
This rice container has no urethane coating. Do not put oily or discoloring items in it.
