A masterpiece that won the gold medal at the Milan Triennale
"Sipuli" is a lamp that means "onion" in Finnish.
The beautiful shades of opal glass, blown using molds, are sure to captivate anyone who sees them.
The surface is sandblasted to give it a matte texture, and the soft lighting creates a dreamlike effect.
At the time of design, the glass shades were manufactured by Iittala but are now produced in Finland by Inorx.
It was designed by Finland's leading lighting designer Lisa Johansson-Pape and won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1954. It became one of her most famous works.
