The solo art show ``Homesick Creature'' by artist Koju Kikuchi, who creates works by stretching dyed cloth and changing it into unique shapes to suit the space, will be held on January 13th, with the theme of the mutability of cloth. It will be held at "BEAMS T Harajuku" from Friday).

Koju Kikuchi is an artist who attempts to express living things that do not have a specific place on the variable material called cloth. Until now, I have focused on things that are ambiguous for Koju Kikuchi and cannot be captured in form, but in this art show, I have come to think that Koju Kikuchi is something that does not have a specific place. I create works focusing on Torajyu.

Growing up in a metropolis that was constantly changing at a dizzying speed, Koju Kikuchi never had a specific place other than his home. When Koju Kikuchi looks back on his childhood, all the memorable places, such as the facilities where he used to play and the Chinese restaurant he loved, have all disappeared and are being reborn as new buildings. Koju Kikuchi expresses the scenery he desires by dyeing cloth that changes into various shapes, depicting natural scenery that Koju Kikuchi cannot normally experience, such as starry skies and endless horizons.

Born in Tokyo in 1998. Based on the theme of the mutability of cloth, I create works by stretching dyed cloth and changing it into unique shapes to suit the space. Focuses on the presence of casual people whose presence and appearance cannot be captured. These beings change in various places, and I am trying to express them without a specific form on the variable material of cloth. Through the accidental blurring and shading of dye, he dyes ambiguous and invisible objects.
