The "Meriken Park Cleanup Project" will be held on Friday, March 20th (national holiday)! Kobe City, BEAMS, Starbucks Coffee, and Daimaru Kobe store will hold a cleanup event.

BEAMS will once again be collaborating with Kobe City and Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park to hold the "Meriken Park Cleanup Project," a cleanup event in the Kobe Port area.

This event, which has been held since 2023, will be held for one day only on Friday, March 20, 2026 (national holiday). No prior registration is required and anyone is free to participate.
This clean-up event will take place around Sannomiya and Motomachi, and will extend to Meriken Park, with the aim of creating a beautiful, comfortable town and port, and also to provide an opportunity for citizens to think about various environmental issues.

To allow more people to participate this year, special bags will be distributed in advance and will also be available at some Starbucks Coffee stores in Suma and Tarumi.

At the finish line in Meriken Park, there will be a collaboration between Kobe City, BEAMS, and Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park, as well as a waste cooking oil collection event where frying oil will be recycled into aviation fuel.

At the novelty event, we will provide bandanas and silkscreen print them on the spot before handing them out to participants. The print design is an original collaboration between Kobe City, BEAMS, and Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park store, and features a Kobe tartan-themed color that is exclusive to this year.
Participants were given the opportunity to take home the printed bandanas as a memento of their participation, and the distributed novelty items were then worn as uniforms after the event, allowing them to continue participating in efforts to keep the town clean.

4. Content within the venue

(1) Participants only! Novelty event by BEAMS & Starbucks Coffee
・Those who help with cleaning will be able to participate in a novelty event.
Those who collect a certain amount of garbage in the designated garbage bags will receive an event participation ticket in exchange for their garbage collection. Please note that if you collect garbage in any bag other than the designated garbage bags, you will not be able to participate in the novelty event.
・The number of participants is limited. Distribution will end once tickets are sold out.

This project is being carried out as an opportunity to think about the various environmental issues occurring on Earth. Because it is important to "reduce waste" and "not produce waste," we will not collect waste that goes against the project's purpose. Please note that you will also not be able to participate in novelty events.

(2) Used cooking oil collection event from the “Fry to Fly Project”
"Flying in the sky with used cooking oil!" The "Fry to Fly Project" uses cutting-edge technology to create aviation fuel from used frying oil (used cooking oil) from homes and businesses. Used oil from homes will be collected at a special booth set up in Meriken Park.
・Please bring in any used vegetable oil produced at home, such as from cooking, in a plastic bottle.
・Those who bring the product will receive a novelty gift.

・A special booth will also be hosting a VR experience session where visitors can experience the manufacturing process of how used cooking oil is turned into aviation fuel in an immersive way.

(3) Coffee Tasting by Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park Store
After cleaning, take a break with a cup of coffee. Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park will be handing out drip coffee samples to those who bring their own tumblers or mugs.
*Tumblers are not limited to Starbucks.
*For hygienic reasons, we will not accept used paper cups.

(4) Waketon participates in garbage collection
・At the garbage collection booth, children can raise awareness of garbage disposal rules by sorting the collected garbage. Children who visit the booth may be able to take a commemorative photo with Waketon!
・Children will also receive an original Kobe City Environmental Bureau novelty item from Waketon.
* Distribution of novelties will end once supplies run out.
