Toshitaka “Tashi” Shimada
Born in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1947, he moved to the United States from 1970 to 1974. He lived in the San Francisco underground newspaper "Good Times" commune and experienced the cultural movements of the time. After returning to Japan, he hitchhiked from Hokkaido to Okinawa, played in a rock band, and participated in the establishment of the Japanese subsidiary of Finnish house manufacturer Honka. After retiring in 2015, he resumed work on a music album and photo book that had been stalled.
