Kompakt Record Bar®, a popular music bar originating in Seoul, South Korea, is opening its first overseas location. This Tokyo base, centered around analog records and fostering a vibrant culture, is located in Ikejiri.

Kompakt Record Bar®, a music bar chain with three locations in Seoul, South Korea, that enjoys a strong following, will open its first overseas location, Kompakt Record Bar TOKYO, in Ikejiri, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, on Friday, May 15, 2026. Having functioned as a hub for music and community within Seoul's cultural scene, the bar will now establish a new base in Tokyo.

This store is a new base in Tokyo that expands the values of "Kompakt Record Bar®︎," which has been nurtured in Seoul as a place where music and everyday life, culture and community naturally intersect. Centered around analog records, it aims to be a place where music, fashion, art, and design intersect, giving rise to new trends and communities.

"Kompakt Record Bar TOKYO" adopts the same playing style as its home country, using only analog records. Through selections by DJs and selectors from Japan and abroad, it offers a rich musical experience unique to analog. With a listening-oriented space design that differs from clubs, it is a music bar for adults where you can enjoy time to naturally connect with music. Combining the casual atmosphere of a cafe with the comfort of a sophisticated bar, it proposes a space where culture is an extension of everyday life.

In terms of spatial design, the sound experience is at the core, and the "ON8 Small Club System" speaker system by OJAS × NNNN has been introduced. Despite the compact space, it achieves a high-density and rich sound image. Landscape Products was in charge of the interior and spatial design, and Kwangho Lee, a designer based in Korea, was commissioned for the counter lighting. The design integrates sound, light, and materials, enhancing the overall perfection of the space.

Our drink menu is extensive, featuring cocktails as the main focus, but also including shochu, sake, and natural wines, with a focus on quality throughout. It's designed for you to relax and enjoy with music.

In addition, to coincide with the opening of the Tokyo store, we will be releasing limited-edition items such as T-shirts, hand towels, and coasters. We plan to continue selling items unique to a music bar, offering an experience that crosses the boundaries of music, fashion, and products.

Furthermore, for three days from May 15th (Friday) to May 17th (Sunday), which will be the grand opening period, DJs from Tokyo and Seoul who have close ties with "Kompakt Record Bar®" will gather to hold a special event to celebrate the opening. This will be an opportunity to experience the expanding community mediated by music and the unique atmosphere of this place.

BEAMS Co., Ltd. has partnered with "Kompakt Record Bar®" to become the business operator for "Kompakt Record Bar TOKYO," the brand's first overseas location, and will support its expansion within Japan.
