This wooden tag from BEAMS Japan reimagines Japanese masterpieces from a premium perspective. Inspired by "Hige Moji" (beard-like lettering), a symbol of Edo-period sign culture, the tag was specially commissioned from Kohei Kamiboriuchi, a leading lettering expert. This unique style, with its beard-like strokes at the ends of the characters, is considered extremely auspicious, symbolizing wishes for business prosperity and a constant stream of customers.
The deep, rich "ink black" wooden tag subtly blends into casual styles, adding a touch of individuality. Its design makes it a striking accessory for keychains or bags, and it embodies wishes for business prosperity and a constant stream of customers.

■About Hige-moji
Hige moji is a uniquely Japanese character culture that expresses wishes such as "prosperity in business," "good health," and "prayer for attracting customers." By making the "hige" at the end of the line an odd or prime number, it is believed to bring good luck, such as "continuity" and "unbreakable," and its traditional decorativeness is appealing, visualizing the power behind the words.

Based on a world view centered on the ink-black of calligraphy, we will re-edit the masterpieces and culture encountered over the past 10 years from a more premium perspective. Kohei Kamihoriuchi
A sign craftsman and sign painter. A sign shop that handles everything from logo design to production and installation. Their work primarily focuses on expressions incorporating "Hige-moji," a type of Edo-period calligraphy.
