BEAMS and New Balance have collaborated to release Special order "2010" model, reimagining the traditional navy color!
2026.05.18

To commemorate the 50th anniversary BEAMS BEAMS, we are releasing a new Special order model in collaboration with New Balance, with whom we have built a deep relationship of trust over many years.
The base model chosen is the '2010', a premium and authentic classic model that combines 2000s design with a running sole. This collaboration between New Balance, which pursues the authenticity of sneakers, and BEAMS has consistently garnered a great response from around the world with each release, by freely interpreting classic silhouettes while focusing on practicality.
For this Special order, BEAMS' signature design language is projected onto the "2010" model. The classic upper is updated with a modern interpretation unique to BEAMS. To highlight the complex parts, four different shades of navy are combined for each section, resulting in a playful color scheme that is truly characteristic of BEAMS. The iconic "N logo" is asymmetrical on the left and right shoes, elevating it to a special, three-dimensional finish.
Attention to detail is evident throughout. The shoelaces come in two colors, white and navy, which complement the navy color perfectly. As a symbol of Special order, the printed logo on the insole features the corporate colors of BEAMS.
BEAMS exclusive '2010' retains the exceptional comfort that is synonymous with New Balance, such as the "ABZORB" cushioning in the heel and midfoot and the "Stability Web" in the midfoot, but the upper has an unprecedented look.
This model will be available from Saturday, May 23rd at BEAMS men's casual label stores, BEAMS BOY label stores (excluding some regions), and the official BEAMS online shop.
We invite you to enjoy this anniversary model, a fusion of BEAMS' history and New Balance's craftsmanship, in your own unique style.

Special Artwork & Visuals

For the release of this Special order model, Berkeley-based artist Jeremy Brian Mendez created original artwork. In response to this product, which reinterprets the traditional navy color scheme in a modern way, he expressed the world of "2010" with his signature abstract brushstrokes. His sensibility, which spans street culture and fine art, adds further artistic depth to this 50th-anniversary model.
Furthermore, the artwork and the creative process behind Jeremy Brian Mendez were captured by Los Angeles-based photographer Justin Chung. Chung, who also runs the "Faculty Department" project that documents the daily lives of artists around the world, has created special visuals that vividly capture the energy of the moment the work is born and even the artist's personality.

J. Brian has provided the following comment regarding this work:
"This piece draws direct inspiration from the product's color palette of blue, navy, gray, and white. Rather than simply mimicking the shoe's colors, I aimed to deconstruct those elements and reinterpret them in my own abstract style."
What particularly attracted me was the "layers" and "movement" inherent in the design. Seeing how different materials and panels were intricately combined, I was driven by an urge to depict forms that shift and overlap. It's an attempt to express the very energy emanating from a moving sneaker. By using a deep navy as the base and skillfully employing blue, gray, and white, I created a powerful contrast and rhythm throughout the entire piece.
For me, what was important wasn't simply depicting the shoe's form, but capturing the 'feeling' that arises when performance and design harmonize. I hope that the finished artwork feels like an extension of the product, elevated to something more expressive and personal.
